Smedberget Pilegrimstun
Smedberget Pilegrimstun is a small 19th-century farm situated along the Østerdalsleden pilgrimage route, approximately 1.5 kilometres from Øvre Rendal Church in Rendalen. Hosts Aslaug and Asbjørn Haugen welcome pilgrims into the historic old cookhouse, which remains open for overnight stays even when the owners are away. Beds cost NOK 150 per night, with an additional NOK 150 per person for access to shower and kitchen facilities in the basement of the main house. Guests should bring their own sleeping bag. Meals including dinner, breakfast, and packed lunch can be arranged on request, and supermarkets are available near the church. The hostel operates seasonally from midsummer to the end of September. Wi-Fi is available, and an outdoor privy is on site.
